Retweet

OVERVIEW
Retweet is a quick study in repurposing text from Twitter in a new and interesting way. The original content is taken from a tweet by Canadian singer/songwriter Matthew Good. The project deliverable, seen below, is in the format of a postcard.

REFLECTION
Initially the direction my sketches took was in the form of a series of logo designs. As I shifted my mindset to fit into the project brief parameters of keeping conceptual moves to text only, several variations emerged. I followed the direction I found most interesting which involves use and reuse of the words, like that of a retweet.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS
• Adobe Illustrator
• Heavy weight paper

PROJECT BRIEF
• Choose a tweet that you have favorited. You do not have to be the author of it.
• Create a postcard, poster, email announcement or other form of graphic communication for your tweet.
• Use text only in black and white.
• Be intentional (and playful) as you render this digital text permanent through the selection of type styles, type size, kerning, word-spacing, and composition of the words/letters in your tweet.
